Last Friday was my last day at IBM Research. After four years of working on a diverse set of projects with a great set of people, I'm looking for a new set of experiences and challenges. Tomorrow I'll be joining Bocoup, a Boston based open web technology company, as a software engineer.
This will be the first time I'll be working somewhere that isn't a research lab and I'm looking forward to the change of pace and opportunity for growth it will bring. I think the combination of diverse client work and Bocoup's commitment to open source will provide fertile ground for making and experimentation. I'm also looking forward to experiencing life in a much smaller organization :-).
While I'm not 100% sure what I'll be working on :). I suspect I'll continue to do visual/visualization work as well as delve more deeply into a whole host of open web related technologies.
Thank you to all my former colleagues at the VCL and CUE (had to get some final IBM acronym-age in there :). And thanks in advance to my new colleagues for the adventures to come.
